Warehouses and distribution centres

Internet for your warehouse in the Netherlands

When the connection drops, the scanners, the WMS and the carrier labels stop. We set up a dedicated fiber line as the main connection, 5G that takes over automatically, and data SIMs for devices that must stay online. Arranged in English, anywhere in the Netherlands.

A warehouse connection has three layers

Each layer covers a different failure. Together they keep the operation running when one of them is down.

A dedicated fiber line as the main connection
A fiber that runs only to your building, 100 Mbit/s to 5 Gbit/s with the same speed up and down. With a higher service level the contract states a fixed repair time, at the top level 4 to 8 hours, day and night. More about dedicated fiber
5G that takes over by itself
A backup SIM in your router or an outdoor antenna on the building. If the fiber fails, the router switches to 5G without anyone doing anything. The backup SIM has no data limit while the main line is down. The outdoor antenna as backup uses all frequency bands and has a fixed IP address.
Data SIMs for devices
Payment terminals, cameras, gates and machines can run on their own data SIM via KPN, Odido or Vodafone. A fixed public IP address and a private APN are possible, so you can reach the device from outside.
A managed network inside
A gateway with separate VLANs for office, guests and devices, Wi-Fi and remote management. Steel racking blocks Wi-Fi, so for a large hall we look at the layout first.

A 500 Mbit/s line with 5G backup costs about €387 a month

That is a dedicated 500 Mbit/s line at €345 plus an outdoor 5G antenna as backup at €42, on a business park close to the network, on a 36-month contract and excluding VAT. Next to a dedicated line from us, a standard installation of the 5G antenna is free.

Installation of the fiber is usually free when it is already in the building or the street. If the network has to dig further, you get a fixed price before you sign.

5G outdoor antenna as backup Takes over automatically, with a fixed IP address €42
5G backup SIM In your own router, no data limit while the fiber is down €14

Managed network Gateway, VLANs, Wi-Fi and remote management €29,50
Firewall in the network With VPN tunnels to other sites €149

On many business parks the fiber is already in the building

We ran samples of buildings on business parks through our availability check. The table shows in how many of them the fiber of at least one network was already in or at the building. There, a dedicated line takes 6 to 13 weeks and installation is usually free. The full measurement per park is in Dutch.

Fiber in or at the building, measured per business park
Business park Town Fiber in or at the building
Ecofactorij Apeldoorn 15 of 20 buildings
Centerpoort-Nieuwgraaf Duiven 17 of 24 buildings
RijnPark Arnhem 12 of 24 buildings

Revelhorst Zutphen 7 of 24 buildings
Het Broek Arnhem 6 of 24 buildings
Wijnbergen Doetinchem 4 of 24 buildings

Order the line when you sign the lease

A dedicated line takes 6 to 24 weeks, depending on where the nearest fiber is. Ordering at lease signing gives the network time to build before operations start. For a new building, the network's technician coordinates the entry point with your contractor.

If the fiber is not ready on day one, we put 5G in place within a few working days. Once the fiber is delivered it becomes the main line and the 5G stays as the backup. We set up the router and test the failover on site.

Fiber in the street

Questions we often get

How does the 5G backup take over?

The router has two inputs: the fiber and 5G. If the fiber goes down, it switches to 5G by itself. We test this on delivery. When the backup uses more than 512 MB in a day, we get an automatic email, so we know quickly that your main line is down.

Can our payment terminals keep working during an outage?

Yes, if they run on their own data SIM or on the network behind the router that fails over to 5G. A terminal with a SIM slot can run on its own data SIM. A data SIM costs from €9 a month.

Can you connect the warehouse to our other sites?

Yes. Sites in the Netherlands can share a private network that runs separately from the internet. Sites abroad connect through VPN tunnels on the firewall in our network.

What does the dedicated line include?

Its own fiber and connection point, the same speed up and down, a fixed IPv4 address and the service level you choose. In the standard version the bandwidth is not guaranteed; with the Premium version it is, at extra cost.

Do you work outside your own region?

Yes. We arrange lines across the whole country. The network installs the line; we manage the process and come on site where needed for the survey or the router.
